Ladder 1 is a 2007 Spartan aerial ladder truck. Its ladder, when fully extended reaches 109 feet. The cab seats six firefighters. The pump has a capacity of 2000 gallons per minute, and the truck has a 325-gallon tank.
Ladder 1 carries many specialized tools, as well as general firefighting tools and equipment. 5108 brings spare nozzles, hand tools, portable lights, chainsaws and rope.
Ladder 1 also carries a variety of fire extinguishers, traffic cones, spare air bottles, fans and salvage equipment.
With its ladder capabilities, Ladder 1 is vital in fighting attic fires, chimney fires, and fires in otherwise hard to reach areas. The ladder allows firefighters to fight the fire from above which can be crucial in challenging fires.
