Rescue 1 is built on a 2013 Ford F-550 Super Duty Chassis. This truck can transport up to five firefighters, carries water rescue equipment, vehicle extrication equipment, as well as some specialized rescue tools and a second grass fire pump.
Rescue 1 responds after the ambulance on all medical calls and is also used for calls requiring special equipment. This unit carries an air cascade system which allows firefighters to refill air bottles on the scene of a fire rather than needing a truck to go back to the station. It carries pre-filled spare air bottles as well as traffic cones, saws and more. This vehicle also carries hydraulic extrication tools for car accidents, extension cords, lights, ropes, a "banana boat" used for ice rescues, tarps and other miscellaneous equipment.
