April 28, 2021 Update - The contractor will be replacing watermain gate valves and pouring new concrete curb the remainder of the week and into next week.  If you are impacted by a water shutdown, a notice will be provided the day before the shutdown. Also, if there is new concrete being installed near your driveway we ask that you have vehicles moved out of your driveway by 7am on the day the work is to begin. To allow the concrete to properly cure, we ask that you do not drive on the new concrete for a minimum of 72 hours after the concrete is poured. This area will be roped off until it’s ready to be driven on. A notice will be provided to you the day before the work begins. April 22, 2021 - The 2021 Construction season is about to begin! The City’s contractor, North Valley, Inc. is planning to begin work within the project area the week of April 26th, weather permitting.  The contractor will begin with replacing deficient curb and isolated small utility replacements. Following this work, the contractor will mill the existing pavement. Milling of the pavement is tentatively scheduled the weeks of May 17th and May 24th with placement of the new layer of asphalt during  the weeks of May 31st and June 7th. It is likely that you will not see work taking place every day during this timeframe. There will likely be days of activity and days where the contractor is not on your street because they moved on to another area of the project and will be back to finish work at a later date. Please note that the schedule is subject to change. More detailed schedule information will be provided via email for those who have signed up for email updates.

For some properties, this work will require a water shut down.

Water Shut Downs - Watermain replacement activities will be taking place in select locations. This work requires a water shut down for users so that the watermain is inactive for the contractor to complete the replacements. These water shut downs will be communicated to you at least 24 hours in advance and will be scheduled to take place within the hours of 9am and 3pm.

Curb Replacement - You will notice that some concrete curb is being replaced with this project. The curb that is replaced has been specifically chosen by the project team, in partnership with Public Works, in an effort to improve drainage issues where feasible. The scope of  this project is not to fix every drainage issue or to replace long stretches of curb, but rather to replace segments that may have the greatest impact on solving a drainage issue. If curb is being replaced in front of your driveway, you will be asked to park outside of your driveway for 5-days to allow for the curb to fully cure. Dylan Casey will communicate this to residents ahead of time.
